Hello and welcome to Golden Wings Aviary.  We are a family team who have been keeping and breeding different parrot species for over 20 years. Over the last few years, we have started to specialize in the rare blue mutation of the eclectus parrot. We have developed a very strong knowledge of parrots and exotic birds, as both a hobbyist and bird companion.

We started breeding Macaws, Amazons, and Cockatoos over 12 years ago. Golden Wings Aviary is among the very best in the business, with the cleanest facility, and highest quality cages, toys, and commodities.

Between us we have a lifetime of experience working with parrots with a strong passion for continuous learning. Our knowledge base has been significantly enhanced by our hands on experiences at Loro Park in Tenerife, private collections, Zoo’s in the UK, USA, vets, Brinsea Incubators and many others. Today we have a good aviary system enhanced with sprinkler systems, waste disposal, natural and artificial lighting, cctv monitoring of both aviaries and nest boxes. We have a purpose-built incubation and hand rearing room with extensive record keeping systems in place. Our birds are fed on a varied diet including our own formulated mix of seed and pellets, fruit, vegetables, pulses and protein via meat.

Our babies are raised by both natural and artificial incubation and hand rearing techniques; however, our hand rearing does not involve any socialisation  with our babies as they are destined for the breeder market. Good Beginner Species to Consider

Beginners who do not have a lot of time to spend with a pet bird should consider species such as canaries or finches. If you have a bit more time and have an interest in parrots, then you could consider parakeets (budgies) or cockatiels, which are smaller members of the parrot family and are friendly, relatively quiet, and easy to tame if you get a young bird.
